Some would say he’s smart, well-rounded, maybe even a renaissance man. We just call him our resident nerd. Born and raised in Elizabethtown, KY, Aaron attended Western Kentucky University, earning his Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering Technology and serving as Vice President of the school’s ASCE chapter (that would be the American Society of Civil Engineering for us laymen). Aaron also served as co-captain of the school’s Steel Bridge Team and was a member of the Concrete Canoe Team (and those are both competitive engineering clubs). A competitive swimmer as well, he was a member of 3 undefeated teams and a four-year letterman.
Aaron went on to receive a second Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and his Master’s of Construction Management from Washington University of St Louis. Since then, he’s had a successful 20-year career overseeing large civil projects. He joins us as Project Manager bringing with him a wealth of knowledge in pre-construction and large-site management and is committed to keeping The Herd Building Better! by developing on-going training for our team. Aaron is also a licensed Civil Engineer and Land Surveyor in Illinois and holds certifications in project management (he's a PMP!), floodplain management (CFM) and sustainable infrastructure (EnvSP).
When Aaron’s not nerding it up on the job, you’ll probably find him running, cycling or competing in marathons. His ideal weekend getaway? A camping trip to a State Park where he can hike and canoe ‘til his heart’s content.
