Concrete Masonry Unit (CMU), Joist & Deck Structure on 4.5 acre site
126 days from start to completion
Tractor Supply is like a toy store for hobbyist and professional farmers alike. Supplying feeds, tools, clothes and implements, they have it all. The retail chain trusted the Herd with its new store in Cottonwood, Ariz. Our team worked with the site, which was previously developed and zoned, removing a 5,000 square foot building. This required some soil mitigation, but did not slow our team in paving an asphalt parking lot and establishing the 22,000 square foot continuous placed interior slab on grade.
From there we constructed a Concrete Masonry Unit, joist and deck structure, as well as a 15,000 square foot outside display area. The masonry portion of this project was completed in only 10 days. The floor was concrete polished, and we installed a singly-ply membrane roof. There were a few smaller projects around the build, such as the construction of a 1,500 square foot storage shed for hay sales. There were also several off-site road improvements made for the city. We collaborated with the Design Team, owner and city to coordinate project approvals. The project required permits to be secured in phases, allowing for expedited construction schedules.
All in all, this was a great job by the Herd. You might even say the client thinks our Tractor Supply is sexy.
“The people that I’ve worked with at Buffalo, at every level of the organization, are professionals with very good attitudes. In my experience, Buffalo uses only the best Superintendents. The Superintendent on any construction project is a key person. I communicate directly with their Superintendents, so I know in real time what’s going on. That’s very important to me. I have worked with Buffalo on many occasions. I’d definitely work with them again.”
