Design Build

161 days from start to completion

As part of the existing Bank of America Tower, we knew would face some complex challenges on this project. To make sure the high-end restaurant received the attention it deserved, the Herd put on its kid gloves (Why are they called that anyway? They don’t fit any kid we know.) and got down to brass tacks and a few other luxury fixtures.

To build the restaurant on the bottom floor of the tower, we had to hang the mechanical equipment from a catwalk above the dining room, which was accessed from the parking garage. In case you wondered, yes, this took a huge amount of coordination.

Getting permits and inspections done was also a challenge because the fire alarm system was connected to the entire tower, which was controlled by a centralized station. We ended up going through seven fire finals with the entire building before we got every floor online and approved.

As you can imagine, though, the gorgeous details of the final product made us forget all the troubles. The Herd is extremely proud of this location. We installed a custom kitchen designed specifically for this restaurant complete with quarry-tiled floors and a CORE Ansul Fire Suppression system, which was a first for our Specialty Restaurant Team.

The dark wood finishes and gleaming glass on the climate-controlled wine storage set the tone for this modern, classy steakhouse. Classic details like the Deco-styled lighting fixtures and deep red walls make the space feel upscale but not too stuffy. The perfect spot to celebrate Building Better!
