Tenant Finish/Build Out

If there’s one thing the Herd loves, it’s a good restaurant. And that’s exactly what CoreLife Eatery is: a good restaurant. CoreLife Eatery is dedicated to helping people take charge of their lives through what they eat. And they have a mission to provide the community with healthy, whole foods that taste as great as they look. They’re a restaurant for good. And we’re proud to be one of the first General Contractors to complete a store for CoreLife Eatery.

We started with the site, a three-story building in Lexington, Kentucky. At just over 4,000 square feet, CoreLife Eatery would be housed on the first floor, but the landlord hadn’t completed the necessary work on the shell of the building by our start date. The Herd’s solution? Finish the work ourselves in order to keep the project on schedule and on budget. And we didn’t half-hoof the effort. In just 116 days, the Herd managed to complete the landlord’s necessary work and CoreLife Eatery’s build out!

Like most construction projects, this one came with its fair share of last-minute changes and unexpected challenges. Luckily, Buffalo Construction, Inc. is flexible and agile, making changes as we go and even engineering new solutions to unanticipated obstacles. For example, with this project, we had to engineer a way to complete a 30+ foot grease duct and exhaust using a crane and some quick thinking—not something you see everyday.

The Herd really got into the spirit of this project—a good restaurant that’s doing good in the community. The folks at CoreLife Eatery were pleased with the extra effort we put into the details and were surprised to see items like stainless steel corners in their kitchen, a stainless steel mop sink and caulking around all their equipment. These are just part of the Herd’s everyday high standards, but CoreLife Eatery’s previous construction partners had not held themselves to the same level of work.

The folks at CoreLife Eatery were impressed with the attention to detail we put into their new store, and we have to admit that the finishes are awesome. The Herd used rolled, powder-coated steel, stained wood, custom graphics and more to make this restaurant truly stunning. And we’re happy to say that the Client Partner loves the finished product. But don’t take our word for it. Here’s what they had to say:

Sounds like this is the beginning of a great partnership.
